1 Corinthians 3:18-23 (NASB)
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is
wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become
wise.19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is
written, “He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR
CRAFTINESS”;20 and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the
wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS.”21 So then let no one boast in men. For
all things belong to you,22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the
world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things
belong to you,23 and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.
1 Corinthians 4:1-5 (NASB)
1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards
of the mysteries of God.2 In this case, moreover, it is required of
stewards that one be found trustworthy.3 But to me it is a very small
thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court ; in fact, I
do not even examine myself.4 For I am conscious of nothing against
myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is
the Lord.5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but
wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden
in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each
man’s praise will come to him from God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ~ 9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will
not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (womanish or
woman like; to be unman), nor homosexuals,10 nor thieves, nor the
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the
kingdom of God.11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but
you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 15:33 ~ 33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts
good morals.”34 Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning;
for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
How do one deceive himself?
By saying he has no sin (1 John 1:8) 8If we say that we have no
sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
By giving into temptation (James 1:14-16) 14 But each one is
tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own
lust.15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and
when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.16 Do not be
deceived , my beloved brethren.
By not being an effectual doer of the word (James 1:22) 22But
prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who
delude themselves.
By being a hearer only (James 1:22)

By not controlling his tongue (James 1:26) 26If anyone thinks
himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but
deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
By empty words (Ephesians 5:6) 6 Let no one deceive you with
empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes
upon the sons of disobedience.
By thinking more highly of himself(Galatians 6:3) 3 For if
anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives
himself.
By what he does (Galatians 6:7) 7 Do not be deceived, God is
not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
He boasts about himself (Jeremiah 9:23-24) 23 Thus says the
LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the
mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his
riches;24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands
and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises
lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight
in these things,” declares the LORD.
What does one look like who is deceived?
He is led astray and cannot deliver himself (Isaiah 44:20) a
deceived heart has turned him aside. And he cannot deliver
himself, nor say, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”
Because bad company corrupts good morals, what can be done and what
should we do.

Be serious, humble, intentional,
Do not treat the things of God with little value
Do not keep company with wicked
Converse with good
Eat, drink, associate with the house of God.
