Burning in the Soul

Burning in the Soul

Beginning January 7, 2018 on the first Lord’s Day evening of each month I have invited 12 pastors in the region to gather with us and preach what is burning in their soul.

If at all possible, I want you to attend all of these gatherings. You will meet pastors from as far south as St. George, UT to as far north as Cottonwood, ID. You will meet local pastors from Southern Baptist Churches and local pastors from other faithful bible preaching churches.

As fast as the nation has moved away from God, God has fortified a faithful post of biblical preachers in our day. These are only 12 of them. There are many others like them. I’ve said it many times, and I still say it today; “It is a good day to be the church.”

Here is the list of names and dates for the first half of the year.

We are in a day where the general population of the nation no longer looks at the preacher as a man of God.

When the man of God in our day mentions God in the marketplace he faces a dilemma. If he speaks, the listener may increase in his abuse of him, but if he doesn’t speak he has no inner peace.

The preachers in our day who obey the Lord are learning, like the prophet Jeremiah discovered; that God’s word is burning in his inner-man like a burning fire shut up in his bones.

In 2018, I have asked these preachers to not hold back from what is burning in their souls. Where the atmosphere of the spiritual landscape in our day and nation is different than Jeremiah’s, I want this church to hear what is Burning in the Soul of these men.

May God bless his preachers and may God bless His hungry people.

Prayer for Revival and Awakening

Dear Beloved Eastside,

I want to report to you of how I have found the past few days of combined meetings with churches in our area and encourage you.

As you know, since this past Lord’s Day (January 22) John Franklin has been preaching each evening at 7 p.m. in Jerome at NorthRidge Fellowship. All of the messages have been helpful, instructive, driven from Scripture, heavy weighted to respond to the Holy Spirit immediately.

The Sunday evening message he shared at Eastside is available HERE. All other messages will be available soon.

The travel was treacherous each evening due to the continuous snow since the weekend but large crowds have gathered each night. It has also afforded fellowship with brothers and sisters in the region and pastors from several churches.

On this coming Lord’s Day, January 29, we have been invited to join the Lord’s people of NorthRidge Fellowship for a shared meal together. They are providing spaghetti, rolls and drinks. We have been asked to provide salads and desserts. Would you consider this invitation and join us after our Lord’s Day gathering? Thank you.  (Contact Lisa if you are willing to help provide.)

Sunday Evening at Eastside:

Southern Idaho Bible Lecture Series (tBC010 A, B, and C)

The podcast this week is in three separate parts. TheBridgeCast (tBC010) was recorded at a gathering of believers from various churches throughout the Magic Valley on the Lord’s Day – March 30, 2014. Last night I had this unique pleasure to examine the same piece of Scripture with two faithful heralds of the Gospel. I will post audio recordings of the three lectures from Jeremiah 6:16-17.

First is Bear Morton. Bear is the pastor of the Magic Valley Bible Church in Twin Falls. Listen in as Bear speaks to those gathered at the College of Southern Idaho Fine Arts Center Theater.

Next is Jeff Norton. Jeff is the pastor of NorthRidge Fellowship in Jerome, Idaho. Listen in as Jeff speaks from verse 17.

Part three is the conclusion of the night together. May the Lord give grace to the proclamation and hearing of the exhortation of Jeremiah 6:16-17.

Be sure to share these lectures with your social media friends. Email links to friends. I’ll announce the second of four lectures in a few weeks with dates, times and location.

Churches who gathered: Magic Valley Bible Church in Twin Falls, NorthRidge Fellowship in Jerome, Berean Baptist Church in Wendell and Eastside Baptist Church in Twin Falls.

Therefore, Hear

I hope you are able to join me at the Southern Idaho Bible Lecture Series at the College of Southern Idaho on March 30 at 5PM. This gathering of churches is designed to provide fellowship and encouragement from Scripture as we look unto the Lord.

I’ve invited two men to help me examine Jeremiah 6:16-17.

“Bear” Morton will examine Jeremiah 6:16. Join me as he “stands by the ways” and speaks of the good way and calls us to walk in this good path. This path leads to rest for the weary souls in our day. There is hope in the Lord, walk in His way with me.

Jeff Norton, a watchman on the wall, will sound the “trumpet”. This clarion sound is a trustworthy call to walk the Lord’s path.

I’ll examine the response of the people. Surprisingly, many will not listen and most won’t walk the path. But our duty remains as strong as ever… stand by the way and herald the gospel to all, pointing the way to the better rest.

Join us Sunday evening, March 30, 2014 at 5PM.

Thus says the LORD,
“Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths,
Where the good way is, and walk in it;
And you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.
“And I set watchmen over you, saying,
‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’
But they said, ‘We will not listen.’ Jeremiah 6:16-17 (NASB)
