Every month, for the past few months, the Kimberly, Idaho School District Board of Trustees has had some level of conversation regarding a policy change (read policy here) related to gender identity and sexual orientation. August 18, 2022, is no different. The policy change is still being discussed (Read the agenda here.) What the reader needs to know is that the school board is being directed to comply with federal regulations. What the parent needs to know is that your children will continue to be the subject of the schoolhouse bullies who claim they want what is best for your children because they know better than you. Following is my letter to the Kimberly School District related to their ongoing conversation.

Dear Mr. Allen, Mr. Kelsey, Mr. Ward, Mr. Giles, Mr. Nield,
I am a pastor in the Magic Valley at Eastside Baptist Church in Twin Falls, ID. Like you, I have shared interests and concerns about children and their education. I am thankful to God for your devotion with respect to the general welfare of children within your jurisdiction and your responsibility with respect to the teaching of this generation.
It has come to my attention that you are considering an adaptation to meet requirements in the Title IX section of the Kimberly School District Policy Manual (specifically…policy 2320 Field Trips and policy 3570 Maintenance of School Student Records). I met with pastors in the Magic Valley on July 27, 2022, to pray for you, your staff, and families within the KSD.
We have come together to take the opportunity to assure you that you do not need to fear the threat of legal action by those who will do moral damage to the children of the Magic Valley. We understand the desire to be filled with compassion and live with understanding, even of those who may disagree with us. However, the demands to insert language of gender identity and sexual orientation by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) advocates, into the Kimberly School District Policy Manuel is a violation of reason, logic, and moral truth. You know this, parents know this, students know this, and even the activist lawyers know this. What they are doing, is the intentional suppressing of truth.
To do this only leaves confusion in the wake of the evil steamroller. You were elected to ask questions, give oversight to district spending, advocate for the district’s human resources, and encourage a way for all policies to be followed. This policy will not accomplish the intended results of helping the young souls within your care. If this policy were true it would not need to rely upon an emotional appeal, it would pass the logic test without manipulation of emotions. The sexual development of the children in our valley is best cared for in the home. Liberate the teachers from the bully advocates of evil. Give parents confidence that they can trust their children to the public education system.
For the flourishing of our community, we encourage you to reject the proposed Title IX policy changes. If a policy is desired write this policy based on truth. To insert policy based on potential emotional harm is a step toward irreversible real harm.
