The Far Side of the Desert

January 30, 2010 – There are days that have a lasting impact upon body, mind, and soul. There are events that leave permanent marks. No one can see them, but they are there.

Those God ordained days on the far side of the wilderness were physically hard, spiritually complex, and emotionally full of an unexpected path. They were what appeared to be of the reputation ruining kind of days. Yet are still some of the sweetest days in my journey with my God.

This photo was taken just a few moments before we were about to get a first person, seventeen day education of how a Napoleonic judicial system worked. The days to follow would be some of the most revealing of my life. I would learn about how selfish I am. I would learn the lies of worry and anxiety are not easily set aside, they would prove to be worthless friends. I would soon learn who my friends were, I would learn how easily people distance themselves from you when things are not as they seem. I would learn the power of the press and their hunger for a narrative. I would immediately learn that I would need to put into practice everything I believed about God and how critical it was to base it upon His word and not my feelings. Lessons I never want to forget.

Sunday night, February 2, 6:30 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church in Twin Falls, Idaho, Silas, Steve, and I will retell the story of the kindness of God on the far side of the wilderness, a Haitian jail cell.

House Bill 361 (HO361)

The path is unclear and the road potentially long, but today, like all days, is for rejoicing in the Lord.

Representative Heather Scott introduced the Abortion Human Rights Act yesterday (01/23/2020) as a personal bill, and was assigned a bill number today (01/25/2020).

Look here for next steps early next week. In the mean time consider writing Rep. Scott and encourage her for the ongoing work for all preborn children in Idaho.

Over 2,000 Dead and No One Reports About It

The murdering of human babies in the city of Twin Falls has been happening since 2008. That’s more than 2,000 neighbors. This is in the city of Twin Falls. There are only three cities in the state of Idaho the allow murder for hire with permission of the church and protected by spineless legislators and “pro-life” lobbyists.

Today, at the College of Southern Idaho, the Students for Life club have placed 258 crosses at the Student Union Building to give a sober reminder that babies are being murdered in Twin Falls. The latest reported year disclosed that abortions in the city are not declining, in spite of ongoing abortion regulation legislation.

The Abortion Human Rights Act is the only piece of legislation before the 2020 Idaho legislature that will abolish this tragedy.

Sermons Online

By the grace of God, a generous people who love the word of God, respect the preaching of the word of God, and care about Eastside Baptist Church – there are now over 580 sermons archived at Sermon Audio.

For the past three years sermons on Sunday mornings (10:30 a.m.) and Sunday nights (6:30 p.m.) are streamed live to assist those who are unable to gather due to illness, distance, or weather.

Sermon Audio recently made some updates. These updates include improvements regarding live streaming. We may still have occasional disruptions due to slow upload speeds on our side or slow download speeds on the other end, but those who stream should begin to notice improvements to the service this week. Improvements continue regarding audio issues as well. (thanks for your patience.)

The partnership we have with generous donors, a first class service with Sermon Audio, and a growing audience around the country and the world has me thankful to the Lord for this outreach ministry from Eastside Baptist Church in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Having these resources archived at Sermon Audio makes searching for past sermons easy. Sermon Search.

Sermon Audio reports that most who use Eastside’s service are from the west (Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and California). The reporting is regional and also shows visitors from 28 states last month (December). Internationally it was reported to us that 43 people logged on during live streaming from 11 nations, from 4 continents, in the month of December.

Time to Prepare

Last night (January 19, 2020) at Eastside Baptist Church, I gave anyone wanting to practice a three minute speech aimed to appeal to the conscience of elected citizens who represent us in various levels of government. The time to prepare for action is before the action is requested or required.

The following video is my introduction of recommendations. Please note, these are recommendations only, not law, not required. These are recommendations from years of observation and experience.
