For the Unborn Human Babies Statement

This week I asked a mom in my church to consider drafting a statement to send to Idaho legislators in response to the proposed bill, Idaho Abortion Human Rights Act. Please read carefully, consider signing and sharing with every mom you know. The hour is short, legislative sessions are fast moving.

The following is the reasonable statement I submit for all moms in the state of Idaho who agree, to sign. It was drafted by Elizabeth Vawser and Bianca Thompson. Two young moms with a strong voice for the unborn human babies in Idaho.

Mothers in Idaho: Speaking for the Unborn Human Babies Statement
a reasonable statement in response to the introduction
of the Idaho Abortion Human Rights Act of 2019

To the Elected Leaders of our great State of Idaho;

We, the undersigned mothers who make our home in the State of Idaho, appeal to you today on the subject of life and the protection thereof. We wish it to be known to you that we wholeheartedly support the Idaho Human Rights Act that has been introduced to you in the first regular session of 2019 by Representatives Heather Scott and John Green. On behalf of future generations of children conceived, carried, and born in our great state, we ask that you also earnestly consider and carry out the changes proposed in the Idaho Human Rights Act.

We, the mothers of children, who, themselves, make up much of the future mothers and fathers of Idaho, desire to bring up these children in a world where life is held sacred at all stages, and where, when that life is assaulted, we can expect the assault to be dealt with in a just and right way. Assault on life, and especially assault on the lives of those who cannot defend themselves, should be unacceptable and regarded as the deepest wrong. It should not be practiced whenever it is deemed convenient, and it should most definitely not be celebrated or regarded as an inherent right every woman has over her body. The rights at stake here are not the rights of a woman to choose whether or not she will reproduce and carry a pregnancy, but the protection of the rights of the human life she already carries, the entirely distinct life of an unborn human baby, with their own living soul and inherent value.

We do acknowledge that we have inalienable rights, rights that are outlined in our own State of Idaho’s Constitution:

Article 1: Declaration of Rights – INALIENABLE RIGHTS OF MAN. All men are by nature free and equal, and have certain inalienable rights, among which are enjoying and defending life and liberty; acquiring, possessing and protecting property; pursuing happiness and securing safety.

In much the same way that you do not attempt to apply the above rights only to the males of the population, but allow that the language extends to women too, we ask that you recognize that this right to life applies to children as well, from the moment they are conceived and their life begins.
